The Sigulda Bridge Teams Cup is a team competition organised with the participation of ten teams. The competition consists of a full circle, where each team plays one eight-deal match against another team.

The competition will be held on 15 and 16 December 2018 in Sigulda, Hotel Sigulda in Pils iela 6.

Competition schedule:

15 December, 11:00 – 14:30: matches 1-3 of the competition;

15 December, 14:30 – 15:30: lunch;

15 December, 15:30 – 19:00: matches 4-6 of the competition;

15 December. 21:00 - 23:00: analysis of the dealt distributions at the bath complex of the hotel;

16 December, 08:00 – 10:00: breakfast;

16 December, 10:00 – 13:30: matches 7-9 of the competition;

16 December, 13:45 – awards ceremony;

16 December, 14:00 – lunch.

Ten teams invited by the organisers are participating in the contest. BK Sigulda, DSS, award winning teams of the first three places at the Latvian Team Championship, a team from Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, Russia and the world. If any of the invited teams refuses their participation in the contest, the organisers of the contest will invite another team.

The number of team participants is 4 - 6 players (considering Section 5 of the By-laws).

Teams must confirm their participation in the contest by 1 September 2018.

Highly Unusual Methods (HUM), as well as Brown Sticker conventions, except Multi 2 diamonds opening (pre-emptive bid in one of the majors) are not permitted during the contest.

There are three people on the Appellation Commission. Each case is reviewed by three people, except for cases where a participant may have potential interest in the case. Then the decision is made by two members of the Appellation Commission. If the Appellation Commission is unable to make decisions, because two members of the commission have potential interest in the case, a new Appellation Commission shall be convened. The composition of the commission shall be determined by the organisers.

The chief judge of the tournament is Deniss Dobrin.

The participation fee shall be EUR 300 per team (assuming that each team has four players. If a team has more than four players, please contact the organisers regarding the amount of participation fee for your team).

The participation fee includes: organisational costs of the tournament, rent of premises and the bath complex of the hotel, lunch on 15 December and 16 December, as well as two twin rooms for one night.

The winners of the first three places will receive commemorative awards.

The winner of the tournament will receive a cup and a 900 EUR prize.

The first runner up shall receive a 600 EUR prize.
